This stamp is an issue of the Tunisian Republic dating from 1959. It was created to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Neo-Destour party, which took place in 1934.
Neo-Destour, a key party for the independence of Tunisia, was founded by Habib Bourguiba on March 2, 1934 in Ksar Hellal. Its 25th anniversary, celebrated in 1959, marked an independent Tunisia (since 1956) consolidating power under the aegis of the party, before its transformation into the Destourian Socialist Party (PSD) in 1964.
