Achievements

This stamp commemorates the fifth anniversary of the African Development Bank (AfDB), covering the period from 1964 to 1969. This issue highlights Tunisia's pioneering commitment to the construction of continental financial institutions and its adherence to the vision of an economically integrated Africa. The graphic content presents, in a circular medallion, the map of the African continent, affirming the central role of this bank as a driver of cooperation and social progress across Africa.

The central iconography depicts the pillars of economic modernization of the time through an oil derrick, smoking factory chimneys and imposing gears. These symbols represent industrialization, the exploitation of energy resources and mechanical power, priority areas for financing national and regional infrastructure. By devoting this value of 60 millimes to the ADB, the Republic promotes the transition towards a production economy and technological development, making the stamp a witness to the ambition for growth and economic independence which animated the continent during this pivotal decade.
