Description
This stamp highlights the work of “Popular Arts” by the painter Ammar Farhat, one of the pillars of the Tunis School. The illustration depicts two men dressed in traditional clothing, including the jebba and burnous, one of them holding a wind musical instrument, probably a zokra or traditional flute. Through this work, Tunisia celebrates its intangible heritage and the figure of the artist who witnesses daily life and the working classes. The message conveyed is that of an authentic Tunisian identity, proud of its rural roots and its folklore, immortalized by a brush which has given artistic nobility to the country's centuries-old traditions.
