The UNESCO headquarters, or “UNESCO Palace”, located on Place de Fontenoy in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, was officially inaugurated on
November 3, 1958. Designed in the shape of a Y by architects Marcel Breuer, Pier Luigi Nervi and Bernard Zehrfuss, this emblematic building of modern architecture marked the first major post-war public project in Paris.
