This stamp is dedicated to the 1967 Mediterranean Games in Tunis, a major sporting event which placed Tunisia at the center of athletic and cultural exchanges in the Mediterranean basin. The illustration combines a view of the tennis club, an emblematic infrastructure of sporting development, with a frieze of stylized silhouettes representing different disciplines, highlighting the diversity of the events and the spirit of peaceful competition. The whole reflects a vision of sport as a tool of modernity, discipline and rapprochement between peoples, where sporting facilities and gestures embody collective effort and national preparation. In the post-independence Tunisian context, this stamp reflects the Republic's desire to promote youth, physical education and international influence, while affirming its belonging to the Mediterranean area and its capacity to host international events promoting dialogue, cooperation and prestige.
