Description
The centenary of the birth of Habib Bourguiba (1903-2003) celebrated the founding father of modern Tunisia and its first president (1957-1987). Born on August 3, 1903 in Monastir, the “Supreme Fighter” is recognized for having modernized the country, promoting education and the emancipation of women (Personal Status Code). A commemorative stamp was issued on August 3, 2003.
